Welcome Back Tarnished Angel Studio!

Hello vintage & art lovers! This gal is prepping to get up at the crack of dawn (actually, even BEFORE the crack) to drive 2.5 hrs to Mount Dora for the first antique extravaganza of the season. I'll be looking for some things to keep or use in my mixed media art & art dolls, and some goodies to bring back to sell at the show in Dec.  I'll be turning in early tonight and getting back late tomorrow, so I probably won't update until the weekend.
I'd like to welcome back Cat Rosenlieb, of Tarnished Angel Studio, to the show! She had such a beautiful booth at the last show and never fails to impress. She'll be on the end of the barn closest to where the food trucks are this time.  Cat is a multi-talented gal who loves making jewelry, accessories, refurbishing decor, and more. Here are some ornaments she plans to have at the show, and here are some pics of her booth from the last show. Welcome back, Cat! You can visit her facebook page and "Like" it to stay updated. Cooler weather is headed our way, and Tanya Wade of Dreads & Curls has just the right thing....

Happy Tuesday! Well, you should at LEAST be happy it isn't Monday, right? Another reason to be happy is that the weather here in South Florida is finally cooling down a bit. I am counting down the days until I have a day with no sweat! I'm a Minnesota/Wisconsin gal, so I am not a huge fan of the hot weather down here.
Today's new featured vendor is Tanya Wade of  Dreads & Curls. She creates and sells hand knit accessories for all seasons and weather, use mainly organic cotton, silks and wool fibers with vintage jewelry adornments and fixtures. She's also had her work featured in three books and Knitscene magazine. She makes scarves, cowls, wraps, and hats for the whole family. She also has some adorable collars in her Etsy shop that I fell in love with. Here are some pictures of her creations, and you can check out her Etsy store by clicking HERE. Welcome to the show, Tanya!

Meet Camille Staropoli of Then & Now Gallery in Jensen Beach, Florida

The weekend came and is nearly over. Boy that went fast. The bad news, is tomorrow is Monday. The good news, though, is that we have another vendor who is new to our event. Camille Staropoli and some other great vintage "pickers" from the Then & Now gallery in downtown Jensen Beach just joined the show!  If you are local and haven't stopped in at their store yet, it is ADORABLE! It has lots of vintage and repurposed, repainted, shabby-fied goodies to view. It's in a quaint area down by the intercoastal with cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and other cool places to check out.
Camille sent me a picture of the inside of the store, to give us an idea of what they may be bringing to the show Dec. 6th. Let's all give them a big welcome!

Tena Boas of Chipped and Cracked will have repurposed items, distressed furniture, old windows, windchimes, home decor, and more at the Dec. 6th show. Below are just a few examples of her work. I love the table made from a window. So many fun possibilities of what you could put inside. Vendor contest!

Well, Halloween has come and gone, and all extra candy has been removed from my house. No more sneaking mini candy bars at 6:30 in the morning while I'm making breakfast! Be gone Baby Ruth! So long Butterfinger!  Thanksgiving is around the corner next and will come quickly. Hopefully not TOO quickly, as one has to have as many opportunities as possible to overdose on all things pumpkin. I'm a pumpkin addict, and have been known to request pumpkin pie instead of cake for my birthday. In other words, I LOVE PUMPKIN!  Something ELSE I love is getting free stuff! Vendors, Jessica and I have come up with a contest that will help our show continue to grow, and offer a prize to the person who most helps to do so.
Starting today, November 4th, we are posting a challenge. Whichever vendor who is accepted to the show, and who refers the most NEW vendors (either artists, crafters, vintage, antiques) who are also accepted, will get their 1 (one) booth space for the Dec. 6th show FREE!
SO...TELL YOUR FRIENDS! TELL YOUR FAMILY! We have one month left, and want this to be the biggest and best show yet! It will FINALLY be cooler out, and seasonal snowbirds will be back, and ready to do some Christmas shopping. When your referrals apply, ask them to mention your name in the application.
The person who has the most accepted referrals by Dec. 1st WINS!
ALSO...Starting tomorrow, Nov. 5th, I will start this round of blog featured vendors. We have some new talent to show off, along with your favorite returning vendors. Stop back in tomorrow for your first peak!

Post show news and thank you's!

Like me, I am sure all of our vendors are recovering from a very wonderful, busy day at the show. I want to thank all of the fabulous vendors for being so patient, friendly, helpful, and just all out AWESOME. Our shoppers had a great time, despite the threat of bad weather, and we were blessed with a mostly rain free show. I am continuously amazed at the creativity and hard work that went in to all of your displays, creations, etc. We have such a fun & creative group! I appreciate your input and positive attitudes! Thanks to Stephen Bowzer, who was a big help with set up and check in. I was on my own for this one, and I don't think I could have pulled it off without him.
The next show is December 6th, and Jessica Pack, my good friend who has a lot of experience and is downright fabulous, will be handling a large part of the show. I am leaving for vacation this week, and will have the application for the Dec 6th show available after Oct. 5th. So, check for the link to apply at www.funkyartandvintagemart.com after Oct. 5th.

The heat may not be completely gone, but October is on our doorstep, and your doorstep needs some cool vintage inspired decorations! Bring on the pumpkins, bring on the black cats! Welcome back Megan McCook of Local Commotion!

It's officially less than a week until the show now! Three month flew by so fast! I'll be sharing a few more vendors this week on the blog, but there are many more to be seen at the show. Remember, it runs from 9-4, so if you can't make it in the morning, or have an afternoon engagement, you can stop on by during the time that works best for you. Of course, so of the best goodies always sell right away, BUT, everyone has different taste and collect different items and styles, so you are sure to find SOMETHING to take home with you know matter what time you can make it!
Today's vendor, Megan McCook of Local Commotion, joined us at the last show. She sells original canvas paintings, wood mermaids, batiks, garden art, wearable clothing (all original works), and has one of the happiest looking booths out there. She loves color, and you can see that in her vibrant artwork. I love the painting of the turtle in the picture below. I have a soft spot for turtles. ( :
So, welcome back Megan! Find her in the open air barn on Saturday...just look for the happy colors!

New Featured Vendor....Barbara Swift Beads & Jewelry

Hello lovers of vintage, art, and all things FUNKY! I am please to announce another new vendor, and our first lampwork artist. I have to say, that I have a soft spot for lampwork beads, as I made them for four years, but quit when we moved to Florida. I LOVE the magical properties of glass...the way it catches light, the way it can be sculpted, etc. Lampwork beads are hand made using a torch and various colors of glass rods that are melted in the flame and carefully, meticulously coaxed into various shapes and decorated. It is an art that takes a lot of practice and skill.
Today's vendor is Barbara Swift. She hand makes her own glass beads & her husband is a silversmith. They create their our own jewelry and wearables. They also tool and lace their our own leather. I am excited to see what they bring to the show, and judging by these pictures, I am sure their work will be breathtaking. Welcome to the show!

Welcome back Affordable creations by Mimi!

Hello everyone! There is only one more day left of August, and then September is here! That means less than a month until the show. It's sneaking up fast. I am still getting applications in, and still have some spaces open, so if you've been trying to decide whether to apply, now is the time.
We had Affordable Creations by Mimi join us at the last show, and there were a lot of oohs and ahhs over her furniture! She has a great eye for color and design, and had some very unique pieces. I have to admit that I have an addiction to furniture makeovers. I love it when beauty and function are joined together! I love seeing new life breathed into older pieces, that have a story and are now one of a kind, thanks to some hard work, a lot of talent, and some paint. Here are some lovely pictures of what Mimi has been working on. Make sure to look for her in the barn!

Fun Fall Plaques....

I have numerous projects in various states of completion right now, and have more ideas than I could possibly ever have time to finish before the show! I do have some wooden plaques done with some cute Halloween themed images. I won't have any furniture pieces in my booth this time, as I do not have an air conditioned space to paint in this time of year, and hubby won't be able to be here to help with this show. Since that is the case, I have been concentrating on collecting lots of fun vintage pieces, and making lots of hand crafted decor pieces. I will also have a lot of the felted and fabric flower brooches that I used to sell in my booth at Laura's Emporium. Well, here's a peek at my designs for the plaques!

Let's welcome back Hannah Long!

Sorry for the space between posts! I've been waiting on pics from the vendors, and managed to end up getting stitches on my left hand last Saturday. Everything is healing up well, and they come out the day after Labor day. Typing is a bit of a challenge, but I am making due!
Today's featured vendor is Hannah Long, who will be returning as a previous vendor. Her hand crafted jewelry makes me drool, and one could get lost staring into the marvelous organic surface treatment and patina of her metal pieces. You will truly be buying a one of a kind piece of art to treasure for years when you pick out one of her pieces! Here is some eye candy for all of you jewelry lovers! Welcome back Hannah!
